The Color of my skin

We as people of color have been suppressed throughout the years and still struggled throughout society to gain the respect that we truly deserve. For in the past our ancestors have been beaten and ridicule for color of there skin and for our race to survive but have we truly been lifted from the bondage and racism  in the eyes of society as they say we have. Can we now truly walk in the same places as others eat in the same places as others and do the same things in society like others can and still not be ridiculed for the color of our skin. Will we ever rightfully have the respect that we truly deserve here on earth or will we still have to continue to keep fighting for our respect until the end of time?
